Most people don't pay VAT on these. Here's why.

If you have a long-term condition, UK law lets you buy incontinence products VAT-free — that's 20% off, with a 30-second declaration at checkout.

What is VAT relief?

Under HMRC's VAT Notice 701/7, products designed for people with a disability or long-term illness can be sold at 0% VAT. Incontinence products qualify. It isn't a discount we fund — it's a right written into UK tax law, and it takes 20% off the VAT-inclusive price.

Do I qualify?

You qualify if you have a long-term illness or disability — HMRC's words are "chronically sick or disabled". That includes most ongoing causes of incontinence, as well as conditions like diabetes, multiple sclerosis, Parkinson's, arthritis and dementia. Temporary conditions (like recovering from an operation) don't qualify. If you're unsure, HMRC's guidance is the place to check — but most people buying these products for ongoing use do qualify.

How do I claim it at checkout?

Tick the declaration at checkout, state the condition, and the VAT comes off your order automatically. No paperwork, no proof, no doctor's letter — HMRC asks only for a simple self-declaration made in good faith. It takes about 30 seconds.

I'm buying for someone else — can I still claim?

Yes. If you're buying for a family member or someone you care for who qualifies, you make the declaration on their behalf — just give their name and condition in the declaration.

Does VAT relief work with a subscription?

Yes — declare once and every subscription delivery is VAT-free. Combined with the 10% subscription saving, that's the cheapest way to buy Confio products.
